1) When studying the subject of giving to God’s work, we are studying about worship. 2) Giving to God praises and glorifies God. 3) The action in giving is simple. 4) It is to be upon the first day of the week as given by Christians ( 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 ). 5) The attitude in giving, is much more complicated.that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; GOD'S WORD® Translation I pray that the glorious Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know Christ better. Good News Translation 2. The Lord Jesus wants us to give for the right reasons. Jesus warned His disciples not to give for the sake of being admired by men. "Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them," He said ( Matthew 6:1 ). When we give, we must be careful to examine our motives. We ought to give for the glory of God and the good of Saved from God’s wrath (v. 9) Christ bore the full fury of God’s wrath against us and our sin. 10. Face it, think about it, study it, pray about it; then hit it and keep after it. You have within you enough force, put there by Almighty God, to overcome situations that seem overwhelming. Acts 1:8 promises, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power.”. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will experience an explosion that Thank You for the challenging moments when You gave me the strength to wait out the storm. Jesus, You are so good. Whatever storms come into my life, You are my Rock and my Shelter. Thank You for Your sustenance that fills me, Your light that surrounds me, and Your love that never fails. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.Giving sacrificially allows God to meet our needs. Paul assures the Philippians that their sacrificial giving will not go unnoticed by God. He promises that God will meet all their needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. When we trust God enough to give sacrificially, we open ourselves up to His abundant provision.
